How this terminal works
Our purpose is to help readers find information relevant to gold and understand the economic channels involved.
Selection
Two searches of the configured GNews feed cover macroeconomic and structural themes. Each returns up to ten reports. Rules screen titles and descriptions for gold relevance. Routine retail-price quotes are excluded when the headline contains no major macro driver. Coverage is limited by the provider and does not include every event.
Classification
Explicit driver mentions in the headline take precedence over mentions in the description. Multiple drivers can be detected. “Major driver” describes the topic, not measured volatility, verified importance or a forecast. “Market context” is a weaker relevance classification.
Events and related reports
Tracking parameters are removed from URLs. Identical URLs and normalized titles are deduplicated. Reports within six hours are grouped conservatively using shared headline terms; election headlines are grouped by theme. Grouping is automatic and can merge or separate reports incorrectly. Original publisher links remain visible for verification.
Publication, detection and refresh
Published time comes from the provider. First detected is when our server first stores the article. The difference is publication-to-detection delay; it includes source, provider and polling delays. It does not establish when the underlying event happened. Measurement starts with the new tracking system; earlier detection times are not reconstructed.
The page checks the feed every minute while visible. Provider results are cached for up to 30 minutes; a page refresh does not force a new provider fetch. Scheduled notification dispatch runs hourly. This service is not an instantaneous newswire.
Context and sources
“Why this matters for gold” is educational context for a topic, not an original account or a summary of the full linked article. We do not infer a price reaction without market observations. Reporting belongs to the original publishers.
Calendar and archive
The economic calendar is a curated selection from official BLS, BEA and Federal Reserve schedules. Its verification date is shown; it is not an automated consensus or results feed. Past scheduled times do not confirm that a release occurred. The archive retains stored publisher headlines and links, not copies of full articles. Article pages provide educational topic context.
Official release desk
A separate desk reads the public Federal Reserve monetary-policy RSS feed, BLS CPI, PPI and Employment Situation feeds, and selected GDP and Personal Income & Outlays entries from BEA. It displays source headlines and direct links, not rewritten reports or inferred market reactions. Each feed keeps its own successful-check time. Failed fetches retain the last stored items and mark them cached. The page polls while open every minute, with a ten-minute source cache. Official releases do not trigger additional push notifications.
Notifications
Only consenting subscribers receive pushes. Dispatch attempts are deduplicated by article URL and related reports in the current event group. Up to three previously unseen event groups published within two hours are selected per dispatch. A dispatch count records article notification attempts, not confirmed delivery to every device.
Corrections
For factual corrections to a report, consult its original publisher. Classification and grouping may be revised as the selection rules improve. The terminal does not silently rewrite the source report.
